Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that delivers volume to the skin. At LARIA MedSpa, we deliver expert medical and aesthetic services with the best derma fillers in the market FDA approved.

Dermal fillers are a hyaluronic acid that has a light, gel-like consistency. It is already found in our connective tissue of our body and when injected into the dermis, it fills in by restoring volume to facial expression lines, and also restores volume in lips, cheeks, and under the eyes. Each filler has unique characteristics specific for the need of each client which makes it appropriate for volumizing different areas of the face. Based on the medical consultation and assessment, our injector expert will guide you thru the different options available to you.

Thicker fillers such as Juvederm Voluma are great for cheek augmentation and last up to 2 years while Belotero and Restylane Silk are thinner and finer fillers which can be used for lines around the lips or hollows under the eyes. Radiesse is the only filler that is a calcium based product. Fillers are normally prefilled in a 1 cc syringe and generally speaking, unless you are only doing your lips, you may require more than one syringe. Radiesse the only filler that is used with a 1.5 cc syringe, is great for cheeks and smile lines. Radiesse has been shown to promote collagen production as the calcium product is degraded by the body where it was injected. Fillers generally last up to one year but will degrade sooner in places that have more movement such as lips.

Fillers instantly adds volume to create a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. It smooths parenthetis lines-folds, corners, marionette lines, wrinkles and add fullness to the lips.

Lip Filler

If you do not like the volume or size of your lips, then a lip filler may be for you. Lip fillers are applied with injections that increase the size of your lips. Synthetic hyaluronic acid is the substance used to make the lip filler, which is similar to the hyaluronic acid our body normally makes. Hyaluronic acid is a type of complex sugar found in the skin and other tissues that helps to retain water, thus keeping skin fresh looking, but as we age our body produces less of it. During the procedure, you will first have a topical anesthetic applied to your lips to make you as comfortable as possible. Next, a small needle is used to inject the different areas of the lips with the filler. After the procedure is finished, you will be monitored to ensure that you do not have any adverse reactions.  The entire procedure can take a couple of hours, including the post-treatment monitoring. After that, you will likely have some swelling that may last up to a week.  Otherwise, you should only experience some soreness from the procedure, and then after that, you will enjoy your new lips. Your lip filler will typically last up to one and one-half years, but may differ from that depending on your age and your basal metabolic rate. If you are young with a high metabolism, then your filler may not last for an entire year. The lip filler procedure is minimally invasive, generally safe, and results in good outcomes.

Rhinoplasty with Fillers (Nose Job)

Are you unhappy with the look and shape of your nose? Have you considered surgical rhinoplasty, but you are not quite sure about taking that step? If so, then non-surgical rhinoplasty (nose job) may be the treatment for you. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed with a dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a type of complex sugar found in the skin and other tissues that helps to retain water, thus keeping skin fresh looking, but as we age our body produces less of it. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is minimally-invasive, meaning that you would receive injections using a small needle of hyaluronic acid in and around the nose to change its shape, structure, appearance, and texture. This non-surgical procedure is not permanent, so if you want to have a radical, permanent change to your nose, then this would not be for you. Otherwise, different forms of dermal fillers can be used in this procedure lasting from one year (temporary) to up to two years (semi-permanent) to perhaps as long as five years (permanent). Obviously, these gels have different ingredients and the more permanent the material the longer it takes the body to absorb or eliminate the compounds and the more involved it would be to remove the filler if you did not like it. With this non-surgical procedure, you will notice almost an instantaneous difference in your nose, so the outcome can be judged quickly. Thus, if you like the results, then you are able to return periodically to have the dermal filler reapplied as your nose returns to its original shape. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is very safe, requires little to no recovery time, and the procedure is relatively quick, typically lasting under one hour. You may experience some soreness for a couple of days afterwards, but you can generally return to normal activities almost immediately. The major risks or complications relate to the use of too much filler that may interfere with the blood vessels in the nose, face, and eyes, so choose wisely who performs your procedure.

Cheek Augmentation Fillers

Do you wish you were born with high cheekbones, one of the hallmarks of beauty? Are you aging and noticing unwanted changes in your face, such as droopiness in your cheeks? Without undergoing painful and risky plastic surgery to modify your facial structure, you could consider a less-invasive and yet effective way of changing the shape of your cheeks by using cheek dermal filler. Minimally-invasive cheek augmentation is performed with a dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a type of complex sugar found in the skin and other tissues that helps to retain water, thus keeping skin fresh looking, but as we age our body produces less of it. Like other uses of hyaluronic acid as a filler, this procedure will last for about one year. This form of cheek augmentation is noticeable almost instantaneously with next to no recovery time. The procedure can usually be performed in under 30 minutes. You can resume most normal activities the next day, although you may experience some mild irritation, bruising, or bleeding around the injection sites, but is typically completely resolved in about 48 hours. As with typical uses of hyaluronic acid filler, cheek augmentation is safe and effective with minimal risk of adverse effects.

Smoker Lines Fillers

If you have smoked, spent a lot of time in the sun, or constantly used a straw to drink then you may have noticed over time that you now have smoker or mouth lines. In addition to the aging process, all of these factors can result in a less appealing look around your mouth, particularly between your upper lip and nose. Nonetheless, you may consider a non-surgical procedure using hyaluronic acid filler to add volume to the skin, which will reduce or eliminate those unflattering lines. Hyaluronic acid is a type of complex sugar found in the skin and other tissues that helps to retain water, thus keeping skin fresh looking, but as we age our body produces less of it. This minimally-invasive procedure will help you achieve a more youthful looking appearance by reducing or eliminating those lines while simultaneously improving your lips.  Typically, these filler micro injections will last for as long as nine months to over one year. This procedure usually takes less than one hour, is recognized as being safe with minimal risk of complications, and has little to no downtime afterward.

Jawline Contouring with Fillers

Have you noticed that your jawline is starting to look saggy due to aging or do you have uneven jawlines that are unappealing? Are you still not sure about undergoing an expensive and risky surgical procedure? If so, then you could consider a minimally-invasive, non-surgical procedure.  Jawline contouring uses a dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a type of complex sugar found in the skin and other tissues that helps to retain water, thus keeping skin fresh looking, but as we age our body produces less of it. Jawline contouring with hyaluronic acid offers you a safe, effective, and quick remedy to help you feel better about your appearance by giving you a more refined and sharper jawline with more volume that improves the overall look to your face. As with most uses of these dermal fillers, you will notice an almost immediate difference in the look of your jawline that requires nearly no recovery time. These dermal fillers will usually last anywhere from nine months to over one and one-half years, but can vary depending on your age and overall lifestyle habits. The procedure takes less than one hour and the soreness, bruising, and swelling from the injections should not last more than a couple of days. After the first couple of days post-treatment, you should be able to resume all of your usual daily activities with no complications.

Tear Trough Filler (Under Eyes)

The tear trough below the lower eyelid is a particularly sensitive area that is greatly affected as we age. Unfortunately, as our face changes over the lifespan, we lose fatty tissue in this area, while gaining it in other areas, such as the neck. This loss of fatty tissue over time causes the appearance of loose, puffy, and dark circles or “bags” under the eyes. If you are not prepared to undergo a permanent surgical procedure, then perhaps a non-surgical tear trough dermal filler is right for you. Using a non-invasive approach with very small injections of dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid can help to temporarily reverse or eliminate these dark circles or bags under the eyes.  Hyaluronic acid is a type of complex sugar found in the skin and other tissues that helps to retain water, thus keeping skin fresh looking, but as we age our body produces less of it. Strategically adding hyaluronic acid dermal filler to the tear trough area will help restore your eyes and face to a more youthful appearance. This procedure is usually performed within an hour and is generally considered to be safe with very minor complications, such as some swelling, bruising, and perhaps bleeding around the injection sites. It is important to not touch the injected areas and not engage in heavy physical activity for a couple of days after the procedure to allow the skin to properly recuperate. You may also need to wait a couple of weeks for the recovery to be complete before being able to judge the effectiveness of the treatment. This temporary improvement in your tear trough may last from nine months to over one and one-half years depending on your age and other lifestyle factors.
